  • Question of the Week: Worst EPL XI of the Season

    By The Postman | May 5, 2008

    Hi all,

THE Postman wants to let his hair down at the end of a long season. And what better way to do that than encourage all of you to come up with the Postman’s alternative to those ultra-serious end of season awards they give out in England. So forget your Dream Team of the Season. Search that brain to recall the worst of the lot, who could form a team that will give fans heart-attacks in just 90 minutes or have them floored laughing their guts out.

The Postman’s Question of the Week: Name your Worst EPL XI of the Season, and tell us why you chose each player (in one paragraph each) before summing up your general thoughts about how such a terrible team would perform.

In your worst X1, you cannot choose more than one player from a team (eg Derby). You’ll raise more eyebrows too, if you can add the worst players from the Big Four teams too.
The word limit is 200 words and the deadline is 4pm on Wed (7 May).

Weekend Question (United to take EPL crown and Chelsea Champions League?)

    By The Postman | May 4, 2008

    Hi guys,

with Man United’s demolition of West Ham and having a vastly superior goal difference to take to the penultimate match of the Premiership at Wigan they look odds on favourites for the League title.

However, with both English sides locking horns at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, the general consensus is that the Kings of Europe might be the London side this time.

Tell us if you think that Man United would be more likely to take the English Premier League title while Chelsea seem favourites for the Champions League crown. Read the rest of this entry »

    Taking the 5th (podcast)

    By The Postman | April 29, 2008

    the postman boys
    Ok kids,
Bit of a shock that it’s back so soon, but here is the 5th podcast. Possibly our most controversial ever as we discuss the events of the weekend just gone.
Ernest Luis (left in pic) is back, so are his impressions (sigh) and Gary Lim (centre in pic) is as Gary does: as football wise as is possible, inbetween bouts of giggles.
Jonathan goes on a quest for fairplay and true sportsmanship.
Iain Macintosh our English Kaki in London, admits that Chelsea were rather good and is buzzed by the chopper squad.
    Enjoy HERE

    Your Pod Host,
Jonathan Roberts (extreme right, above pic)

Question of the Week (Should Grant go or stay?)

    By The Postman | April 29, 2008

    Hi all,

CHELSEA’S Avram Grant. He has certainly divided opinion, hasn’t he, among football fans worldwide? He’s not even close to where Liverpool’s Rafael Benitez is, who still has a vocal section of home fans and those overseas backing him despite his lack of domestic success in the English Premiership since he arrived in 2004.

When it comes to Grant – who took over from the sacked Jose Mourinho early on in the season – it’s arguable as to whether most Chelsea fans are even on his side. So here’s your chance to have your definitive say on Grant. Chelsea fans especially, speak up now or forever hold your peace.

The Postman’s Question of the Week: On seeing how far Chelsea manager Avram Grant has come this season, do you think the Israeli should be given a second chance to stay on as team boss next season, or should he go? Why? The word limit is 200 words and the deadline is 4pm on Wed (30 Apr).  Read the rest of this entry »
